It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Wayne Locklear (Pembroke, North Carolina), who passed away on September 10, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus Locklear and Josephine Locklear; and his brothers, Eberts, Edsel, Prentis, Gus Jr. and Lockwood.

He is survived by: his wife Panthia; his children, Nakesha Pierce (Chad), Garrick and Autumn; his grandchildren, Noah, Niyah, Christopher and Nicholas; and his siblings, Eddie Mack, Bertha, Mary Frances, Patsy (Russell) and Sara Elizabeth.

In remembrance of Gary's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the UMC Mission Endowment or the UNCP Men's Basketball Alumni.
