He was predeceased by: his wife Ola Burns (Sampson); and his parents, John T. Burns and Evelyn Burns. He is survived by: his children, Betty Hull, Georgeanna Pugh of Pembroke, NC, John Fields of Philadelphia, PA, Angela Starr (Robert) of Princeton, NC, Daniel Fields of Pembroke, NC and Ann Vera (Peter) of Chicopee, MA.. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
