He was predeceased by: his close friend Barbara Hunt; his parents, Purcell (Ruthie Swett) and Willie (Maitland Jacobs); and his siblings, Marvel, Willie, Vardel, Wilmer, William, Stella, Mary, Bobby, Purcell, Jr. and Ellen Locklear.
He is survived by: his children, Steven, Jeffery, Donnie Hunt, Tiffie, Pamela, Tasha and Veronica; his grandchildren, Quessie, Makalya, David, Johnny, Nathaniel, Tyler, Ethan, Christiana and Steven, Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Nakayah, Alexandrea and Solomon.
