She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvin Chavis and Lois Chavis; and her daughter Nicoya Erin Locklear. She is survived by: her husband Albert R. Locklear; her children, Kelley Chavis, Kimberly Locklear, Ellis R. Locklear of Albert and Seth A. Locklear; her grandchildren, Isaish Chavis, Ellis R. Locklear, Albert R. Locklear III, Khaila Locklear, Dezmund Locklear, Christian Locklear, Josiah Chavis, SaBella Locklear, Elijah Locklear, Mya Locklear, Hailey Locklear, Talisa Oxendine, Jasmine Oxendine, Bobby Hunt, Javen Locklear, Paula Oxendine, Kaleb Chavis, Ky McMillian, Paul Broady, MyRaiah Lowery, Jana Locklear and Skylynn Locklear; her great grandchildren, Rayliana Clark and Chayston Lowery; and her siblings, Diana Bumgardener, Dena Walters and Darrell Chavis.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thompson's Funeral Home Chapel (2305 Prospect Rd, Pembroke, NC 28372). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at the Locklear Family Cemetery (4689 Union Chapel Rd, Pembroke, NC 28372).
