He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Smith and Helen Davidson Morrison; and his brothers, Mickey Smith, Stanley Smith and Ernie Smith.

He is survived by: his brother Ira Smith; his sister-in-law Suzanne Smith; his niece Angie Smith; and his nephews, Mitchell Smith (Sharon), Sean Smith (Melissa) and Jason Smith (Christy). He is also survived by 7 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Brevard High School Football team in Jerry's honor.
