She was predeceased by: her parents, H. W. Lewis and Vermell Taylor Lewis; her granddaughter Christy D. Gentry; her siblings, Carrie L. Horner, Jo Ann Ireland and Frank Lewis; and her aunt Ethel B. Taylor.
She is survived by: her husband George E. Gentry, Sr.; her daughters, Lesia L. Howell (Danny) and Cappi L. Shelton (Chris); her stepson George E. Gentry, Jr. (Cindy); her grandchildren, Cassie Roberts (Matt) and Ben Shelton (Alisha); and her great grandchildren, Olyvia Roberts, Elizabeth Roberts, Layla Joyce, Stella Shelton and Case Harmon.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Old Town Baptist Church, 4386 Shattalon Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
