It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Norwood Gurley of Pikeville, North Carolina, who passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Gela Gurley and Edgar Gurley; and his brothers, Edmond Gurley and Harold Gurley. He is survived by : his siblings, Woodard Gurley (Ruby) of LaGrange and Melva Jean Thompson of Pikeville; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Gurley of Goldsboro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
