He was predeceased by : his parents, Hiram Lewis Johnson and Nannie Inman Johnson; and his siblings, Thomas Clayton, Ruth Johnson, Eula Mae Johnson Vaughn and Ocho Lee Johnson McCollum.

He is survived by : his wife Geneva Lawson Johnson; his children, Tony (Nancy Johnson), Kim (Norm Nelson) and Jay (Heather Johnson); his grandchildren, Lauren, Zach Cary, Felicia Nelson, Ben, Laura Johnson, Grace Johnson, Taft Johnson and Mack Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Parker Cary, Auggie Cary, Beck Johnson, Ford Johnson and Mason Nelson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care.
