It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Helen M. Deer of Pinebluff, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 101, on July 6, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Peffer and Sara Hartzell Peffer; her husband George M. Deer; and her siblings, Don Peffer, Paul Peffer, Irvin Peffer and Della Marshall.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Jay Deer (Mary Anne), Mary L. Deer and Karen S. Young; and her grandchildren, Deborah Wisnoiwski (Eric), Daniel Deer (Rachel), Amy Yanick (Mike), Timothy Deer (Derek) and Megan Lenz (Ed). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. (5864 Heckert Rd, Bakerstown, PA 15007). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Bakerstown United Methodist Church (5760 William Flinn Hwy, Gibsonia, PA 15044).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Southwestern PA, North Country Kitchen.
