She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Milton and Hazel McDonald Kivett; and her brother Carl Kivett, III. She is survived by: her significant other Wayne R. Melton; her daughter Donna Lynne Melton (Jamie Chisholm) of Carthage; her grandchildren, Kellie Alyssa Ring (Andrew) of Carthage, Robert Justin Stevens (Breanne) of Siler City and Ethan Ryan Sercy of Carthage; her sisters, Carolyn Machonne Morrison of Beaufort and Hazel Ann Moore of Greenville; and her great grandchildren, Garrett Ring, Dawson Stevens and Seth Bowers. She is also survived by mother, grandmother, and "Me Ma" to many children beyond her own family.
