We announce the death of Helen S. King of Pinehurst, North Carolina, who passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 94. Helen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubbard Sutton and Fannie Sutton; her husband Earl B. King; her siblings, Miriam Adams and Vernon Sutton; and her grandsons, David and Jeffrey Stevens.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Walker (Tom) of Whispering Pines, Patricia Dauenhauer (Bob) of Pinehurst, Stewart King (Judy) of Clayton, Becky Snapkoski (John) of Whispering Pines, Debbie Auth (Jim) of Whispering Pines, Steve King (Sandi) of Southern Pines, Eddie King (Vicki) of Tappahannock and Virginia; her brother Morris Sutton of Midlothian; and her sister-in-law Faye Ryba of Omaha. She is also survived by grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pinehurst United Methodist Church (4111 Airport Rd, Pinehurst, NC 28374). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to FirstHealth Hospice House 251 Campground Rd., West End, NC 27376 or Pinehurst Methodist Church, 4111 Airport Rd., Pinehurst 28374. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Helen S. King 's name.
