It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Vickers Dewell Jr. in Pinehurst, North Carolina, born in Cobleskill, New York, who passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan Mina Rich and Dr. Jay Vickers Dewell Sr.; and his brother John David Gallagher. He is survived by: his wife Connie Dewell; his children, MacKenzie Philbert (Brian), Ryan Dewell (Lauren) and Corey Walton (Amanda); his grandchildren, Carson Philbert, Kennedy Philbert and Amelia Philbert; his siblings, Susan Gallagher, Dennis Gallagher (Martha) and Sarah Dewell (Ken Moore); his aunt Elizabeth Dewell (Connie); his uncle Robert Dewell (Anne); his stepmother Tordis Hollenbach Dewell; and his stepsisters, Heidi Wall (Scott) and Carolyn Winter (Scott). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Congregational Church (2 Clay St, Malone, NY 12953). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
