He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Stevens and Helen Stevens (Schallerer); his brothers, Robert L. Stevens and Richard Stevens; and his daughter Ann Stevens Edwards.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Stevens, Jr. (Esther) of Matthews, NC and Alison Nelson (Carl) of Gaithersburg, MD; his wife Barbara Beville of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Hudson Stevens of Nashville, TN, Elias Nelson and Ella Nelson of Gaithersburg, MD; and his sister Carol Stevens Yürür of Istanbul, Turkey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the following charities: Carolina College of Biblical Studies or Christian Veterinary Mission: Dr. Gerald & Francis Mitchum serving in Mongolia.
