She was predeceased by: her parents, Braxton Mercer Pitt and Alice Gay Pitt; her significant other Walter Reid "Preacher" Edmondson; and her siblings, Ellen Pitt Morris, Janice Pitt Dougherty and John Spencer Pitt.
She is survived by: her sister Carolyn Baker (Bobby); her children, Mark Reid Edmondson (Lea), Cynthia Pitt Edmondson and Cathy Anne Edmondson; her grandsons, Walter Reid Edmondson (Stephanie), Braxton Howard Edmondson and Samuel Mercer Edmondson; and her great grandchild Elyse. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, "adopted" children and grandchildren.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to The Bridges of Hendricks Creek, Hospice of Wilson or Pinetops Methodist Church.
