He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Edgar Pridgen and Bettie Forbes Pridgen; and his siblings, Milton Pridgen, James Pridgen, Charles Pridgen, Phillip Pridgen, Ray Pridgen, Tim Pridgen, Ida Faye Gaynor, Mabel Weaver, Rebecca Powell, Loretta Maddry and Mary Edwards.

He is survived by: his wife Nita Allen Pridgen; his daughter Shannon McLean (Stacey) of Clayton; his grandchildren, April McLean Lewis (Jordan), Clark McLean, Rachel McLean and J. Eric McLean; and his sisters, Judy Brown (Charlie) of New Bern and Donna Jones of Whitakers. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
