He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest W. Smith and Alice Cahoon Smith of Kilkenny, NC.; his significant other Eleanor Frances Waters Smith; and his brothers, William Douglas Cahoon, Charles Chrstopher Smith, Gene Leon Smith and Lawrence Truman Smith.
He is survived by: his brother Lonnie Wade Smith of Greenville; his sister-in-law Linda Smith of Windsor, NC; his niece Lisa Barnes of Windsor, NC; his nephew Lance Smith (Charlotte) of Lewiston, NC.; and his son Todd Smith (Virginia) of Edenton, NC..
