She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Koonce Jr.; and her brother Roy D. Wynkoop (Anita). She is survived by: her children, Brett Koonce (Kathryn Katona) and Lou Ann Bestenheider (David Whitfield); her grandchildren, Timothy Koonce (Stacy Compa), Kaitlyn Bestenheider and Jason Bestenheider; her great grandchild Dylan Walter Koonce; and her brother David Wynkoop. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park (985 NC-11, Pink Hill, NC 28572).
