She was predeceased by: her husband Johnny Smith; her parents, Ernest Byrd and Anne Lee Byrd; and her siblings, Ernest Byrd Jr., Perry Byrd, Tessie Hill and Lizzie Stanley.
She is survived by: her daughter Diane Smith; her grandchildren, Michael Paul Jarman (Kim), Johnathan Jarman (Christina Williams), Tiffany Turner (Diamond), Nick Jarman (Chalea) and Brittany Graham; her great grandchildren, Angel Heath (Mackenzie), John Michael Jarman (Zoey Burns), Taylor Jarman (Aaron Houston), Addison Williams, Lillie Williams, Raylee Williams, Austin Turner (Ashley Peters), Hayden Turner (Kennedy Swigart) and Freya Graham; her great great grandchild Sawyer Heath; and her sister Irene Byrd Davis.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Pink Hill Funeral Home (1056 NC-11, Pink Hill, NC 28572). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Christian Chapel Ofwb Church.
