With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Covington Dunkley in Pinnacle, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 28, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert David Covington and Zettie Bowen Covington; her son James Robert Dunkley; and her siblings, Kathleen Green, Dennis Covington (Joyce) and Madeline Fulk.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Black (Dean); her grandson Scott Black (Rachel); her nephew Billy Covington; and her niece Zelda Young.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
