He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Hooper and Gertie Hoyle Hooper of Tuckasegee, NC.; and his siblings, E. M., Lloyd, Leonard, Melba, Clara and Kenneth.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Slagle Hooper; his sons, Darrick (Jacque) and Danny Ballard; his grandchildren, Zachary, Colton, Tanner, Samantha and Gracie Ballard; his siblings, Ina, Alvin (Ellen), Mildred and Mac (Irene); and his close friend Rita Kemsey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
