Emma Lee Mathis Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on December 10, 2025, Emma Lee Mathis of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie G. Tinsley and Eula Samantha Hudson Tinsley; her stepmother Minnie Tinsley; her daughter Barbara Ann Mathis; her son-in-law Michael Campbell; her grandson Nathan Mathis; her great grandchild AbbyLea Masters; her siblings, Grace Tinsley Franks (Furman) and James "JP" Tinsley; and her stepbrothers, Glen and Ted Newton of Pisgah Forest.

She is survived by: her husband Orville Mathis; her children, Jerry Mathis, Nancy Lusk (Lester), Orvella Mathis and Cendia Campbell of Pisgah Forest; and her grandchildren, Julie Ledbetter, Brad Anders, Chad Anders (Amber), Jacqui Owen (Pat) and Michael "Mikie" Campbell. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
