He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Richards and Mary Murphy Richards. He is survived by: his pet Rocky; his cousins, Peggy Williamson, Kenneth Teague, Mary Bowman, Janie Crompton, Jim Teague, Barbara Teague, Frank Richards, Darlene Shannonhouse, Mike Richards, Butch Mullen, LaRae Coile, Rita Richards, Max Richards, Debi Hawkins, Tina Abee and Carla McKee; and his half-brother Wayne Taylor.
