It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tommy Shipman of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, born in Brevard, North Carolina, who passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Shipman and Julia Shipman; his parents-in-law, Ansel and Alma Merrill; his brothers-in-law, Ansel "Baker" Merrill, Jerry Emerson and Joe Crane; and his great-niece McKenna Brock.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Shipman; his children, Luther Shipman (Missy) and Angela Tilley; his granddaughters, Amber Ramer, Ashley Ramer and Krista Padgett (Kohl); his siblings, Ada Crane, Darlene Gillespie (Larry) and William Shipman (Diane); his aunts, Louise Shelton, Shirley Shipman and Hazel Deitz; his siblings-in-law, Jerry Merrill (Le), Elizabeth Emerson and Pat Merrill; and his nieces and nephews, Dale Crane, Justin Shipman, Brian Merrill (Joan), Alex Merrill, Jeff Merrill (Susan), Joe Merrill (Vicki), Nathan Emerson (Jenny), Eric Emerson (Michelle), Charlene Cali (Chris), Elaine Hauss (Wilson), Crystal McCall (Ernie), Teresa Bryson (Vernon), Missy Brock (Jason) and Crystal Merrill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little River Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
