It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Walter Bunyan Raxter of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, who passed away on November 14, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Perry Elzie Raxter and Reba McGaha Raxter of Dunn's Rock Community; and his siblings, Calvin, Perry, Alvin, Condon, Maude, Laura Mae, Nadine, Jeraldine, Margaret, Clara, Alma and Agnes.

He is survived by : his wife Kathy Raxter; his brother Preston Raxter; his children, Teresa Raxter, Matt Raxter (Serena) and Lisa Shuford (Bill); and his stepchildren, Eric Padgett (Twila) and Chris Padgett. He is also survived by PaPaw by his nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
