She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Lee and Ada Baldwin Nettles; her son Winston Rochelle Alston; and her siblings, Arthur, Amos, Orin, Joseph, Jeff, Lindo, Melvin, Virginia, Katie and Lavenia.
She is survived by: her children, Vinston U. Nettles (Maxine) of Pittsboro, NC, Wilma A. Peete of Pittsboro, NC, Simon K. Alston of Pittsboro, NC, Marty F. Alston of Pittsboro, NC and Veronica A. Scotton (Clyde, Jr.); her grandchildren, Wayne, Tammy, Cedric, Candie, Angela, Simon, Jr., Marty, Jr., Brandon and Vanquas Scotton; her great grandchild Hunter Mote; her great great grandchild Bella Rorie; her niece Brigal Stone; and also JaKayla Burnette (Milla Alston). She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many much-loved nieces, nephews and friends.
