It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Richard Derck of Pittsboro, North Carolina, born in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Richard Derck and Helen Hessenberger Derck. He is survived by : his wife Amy Derck; his children, Matthew Derck (Jenette) of Colorado and Melanie Jacobs (Jim) of Sanford, NC; his stepsons, Robert Ward of California and Matthew Ward (Aimee) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Oliver, Grant, Clara Jacobs, Saryn and Charlotte Ward; his sister Rene Fobean (Don) of Ohio; and his nieces, Katie Fobean and Samantha Fobean.
