He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Hester and Lillian Atwood Blakely. He is survived by: his wife Linda Absher Hester of Pleasant Garden; and his daughters, Angel Hess (Darrell) of Lebanon, Virginia and Lee Scott (Chris) of Pleasant Garden.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Forbis and Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel (4601 Pleasant Garden Rd, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gilmore Memorial Park (6504 Liberty Rd, Julian, NC 27283).
