He was predeceased by: his father Hal T. "Jay" Hoover; and his brother Hal Thomas "Tommy" Hoover, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Sherry L. Hoover of Pleasant Garden; his daughters, Kristin Nicole Wood (Kara) of Summerfield and Ashley Lauren Hoover (Osiel Benitez) of Summerfield; his grandchildren, Ayden Thomas Benitez, Amelia Grace Benitez and Anderson Allen Benitez; his mother Eleanor Hoover of Greensboro; and his niece Morgan Tucker.
