It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Susan Frances Lawhon of Polkton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband James Ellis Lawhon; her grandparents, Fred Jones Kirk and Nora Mae Kirk; and her former life partner Steve Thomas. She is survived by : her children, John Thomas (Connie), Kimberly Polson (Chuck) and Jamie Lawhon; and her grandchildren, Tabitha Thomas, Levi Thomas, Marissa Polson and Taylor Snyder.

Memorials may be made to Anson County Animal Shelter, 7257 US-74 E, Polkton, NC 28135; ASPCA, or Hopewell United Methodist Church, 1715 Hopewell Church Road, Peachland, NC 28133 Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Lawhon family.
