We bid farewell to Eric McCleese Shannon (Powells Point, North Carolina), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 4, 2025 at the age of 61. Eric touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As Eric departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Eric may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Eric leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Shannon and Mable Geneva Spellman Shannon. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Shannon; his son Kyle; his siblings, Patricia Godfrey (Walter) of Elizabeth City, Barbara Ann Shannon of Elizabeth City, Juanita Francis (Charles) and Glover Shannon (Juanita); his stepmother Vivian Shannon; and his stepbrothers, Michael Griffin (Sharon) and Terry Saunders. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Beach Rivers Funeral Service (310 E Grice St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church (107 Foster Forbes Rd, Powells Point, NC 27966). A burial will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (107 Foster Forbes Rd, Powells Point, NC 27966).
