James Rufus Hewitt Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 21, 2025 we had to say goodbye to James Rufus Hewitt of Princeton, North Carolina, born in Tampa, Florida. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Earl Hewitt, Sr. and Judy Lifino Lane; and his brothers, David Lee Hewitt and William Patrick Hewitt. He is survived by: his wife Rena'Daughtry Hewitt of Princeton, NC; his daughters, Kathlyn Anne "Kathy" Shutt (Levi) of Anchorage and Ashley Noel Hewitt of Princeton; his granddaughters, Isla Kate and Adelyn Rose "Addy"; his siblings, Guy Earl Hewitt, Jr. (Robin) of Henderson, TN and Mary "Sissy" H. Harris (Steven); his nieces, Heather Talvacchio (Matthew) and Stephanie Harris of Grantsboro, NC.; his sisters-in-law, Kristie Daughtry of Clayton and Lynn D. Hicks (Blane); and his niece Samantha Hicks of Princeton.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hephzibah Baptist Church (4633 US Hwy 70 E, Princeton, NC 27569). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hephzibah Baptist Church Multi-Purpose Building Fund, which he greatly supported.
