He was predeceased by: his parents, Walton Everette Massengill and Melba Jean Johnson Massengill; and his sister Jean Rains. He is survived by: his wife Edna Grace Holt Massengill; his children, Robert Massengill, Jr. of Pikeville and Monica Jo Littleton of Raleigh; and his grandchildren, Jeremy, Amber and Brandon. He is also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren.
