He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis Satterfield and Mildred Lough Satterfield; his siblings, Elizabeth S. Walker and Gordon Satterfield; and his granddaughter Amanda Yarbrough.
He is survived by: his children, Robbie Jean Yarbrough (Tim) and Robert L. Satterfield, Jr. (Mindy); his grandchildren, John Yarbrough (Shelby), Rebecca Redding (Coty), Rachel Maness (Michael), Jay Cotton (Cary) and Russ Yarboro; his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Mills, Collin Mills, Trevor Yarbrough, Cheyenne Redding, Lola Redding, Henry Redding, Hayden Maness, Hallie Maness, Zellie Yarboro, Eli Yarboro and Theodore Yarboro; and his siblings, Mary Kiser Mise and Jack Satterfield.
