He is survived by: his wife Brenda Nowlin Johnston; his children, Laura Heaton Thompson (Roy) of Blanch, N. C., William Russell Johnston (Whitney Brandon) of Providence, N. C., Stephanie J. Eggleston (Frank Lee) of Richmond and Julius Johnston, IV (Ashley) of New York, N. Y.; and his grandchildren, Ryan Cole Thompson, Jameson Anne Johnston, Julianne Johnston, Joel Johnston, Alexandria Johnston and Carly Johnston.
