He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Franklin and Ennice Church McNeil; his wife Vada Watts McNeil; his siblings, Dr. Tommy Lee McNeil, Virginia Hudson, William Walter "Bill" McNeil, Etta Jean Huffman and Bert McNeil; and his stepson Bobby Church.
He is survived by: his children, Charlie McNeil (Libbie) of North Wilkesboro, Teresa Jane Osborne (Gary) of North Wilkesboro, Sam McNeil of Purlear and Mary Bunker (Glen) of Millers Creek; his stepchildren, Melissa Williams (Kirby) of Purlear, Shirley McNeil (Fred) of Purlear, Thomas Church (Sylvia) of Millers Creek and James Church (Teresa) of North Wilkesboro; and his close friends, Boyce, Reggie, Diane, Ivory, Etta Ray and Donna. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Service (180 Sparta Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church (1286 New Hope Rd, Purlear, NC 28665).
