It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Brown of Purlear, North Carolina, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arlie RayVaughn and Sarah Emma Brown Gentry; her husband William Floyd Brown; and her brother John Gentry. She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Colbert (Donnie), Laura Harless (Bobby) of North Wilkesboro and Lisa Pierce (Greg) of Purlear; her grandchildren, Will Harless (Aly), Wesley Harless (Sarah), Hailey Pyatte (Bradley) and Arlie Brown (Rhiannon DelCanto); her great grandchildren, Addison Orpert, Logan Harless and Jaxson Pyatte; and her sister Ima Lee Crews (Grady) of Purlear.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home (270 Armory Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel (270 Armory Rd, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659). A burial was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at the Scenic Memorial Gardens (545 Moravian Falls Rd, Wilkesboro, NC 28697).
