With solemn reverence, we commemorate Willa Church of Purlear, North Carolina, whose life came to an end on December 4, 2025 at the age of 76, leaving behind cherished memories. Though Willa may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Willa touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Walter Huffman and Dora Mae Lovette Huffman. She is survived by: her husband Duane Church Sr.; her children, Marty Leann Shumate (Bobby) of Hays, Tony Church (Tammy) of Burlington, Fred Church (Shelly) of Ashe County and Duane Church Jr. (Jammie) of Purlear; and her siblings, Phyllis Miller (Gary) of North Wilkesboro, Lonnie Huffman (Joan) of North Wilkesboro and Tommy Huffman (Sherry) of Millers Creek. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes Chapel (2109 Moravian Falls Rd, Moravian Falls, NC 28654). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
