He is survived by: his wife Cindy Schweitz Chance; his daughter Sarah Emma Thompson (John); his brothers, Kenneth and Steven Chance; and his siblings-in-law, John E. Schweitz (Carol), Thomas R. Schweitz (Pamela) and Kathleen J. O'Connell (Ed). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
