He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Gwynn Nowell and Peggy Lou Futrelle Nowell; and the mother of his children Karen Suberman. He is survived by: his girlfriend Susan Harris; his former wife Julie Daniels; his children, Karen Nowell and Gwynn Nowell (Bee); his grandchild Gwynn; his child Lauren Nowell; his siblings, Matt Hooper Nowell (Harriet) and LuBet Nowell; and his caregivers, Enock Nyasimi and Irene Ukiru. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carolina Country Club (2500 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27608).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Virginia Episcopal School, the Beaufort Historical Association or a charity of your choice.
