She was predeceased by: her parents, George Tharp Blackard and Annie Laurie Watkins Blackard. She is survived by: her husband John Alexander Averette; her children, Jill Talley (Mike) of Rolesville, Stephen Averette (Shelley) of Raleigh and Mark Averette (Sonya) of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Landon Talley, Philip Talley (Jana), Sara Adcock (Joe), Seth Averette, Grayson Brannan (Coda) and Camden Averette; her great grandchildren, Flora, Hazel Talley, Jack and Luke Adcock; and her sister Kay Schrum (David).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church.
