She was predeceased by: her parents, Sims (Gault) and Betty; and her husband Dr. Wayne Brooks. She is survived by: her children, Stephen Brooks (Valda) of Raleigh, Cheryl Brooks of Raleigh and Rebecca Brooks of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Nathaniel and Sarah; her niece Kathy; and her nephews, Gordon and Douglas.
