He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wright Fields and Zilphia Gurley Fields; and his siblings, Vernon Fields, Howard Fields, Mildred Edgerton, Helen McClenny and Hilda Sjostrom.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Corrieri Fields; his children, Michael Fields (Jamie), Bobbi Lynne Wise (Matthew), Shari Vasquez and Lori Vasquez; his stepchildren, Lisa Wilson and Kevin Wilson (Sony); and his grandchildren, Mason Weeks, Velena Wise, Elise Wise, Alex Vanmeir, Aaron Venhuizen, Nathan Wilson and Ava Wilson.
