She was predeceased by: her parents, Stella Philyaw and Carl Philyaw; her husband Albert Pilkington, Jr.; and her siblings, Maxine Philyaw Hales, Gene Raymond Philyaw, Carl Philyaw, Jr. and Daphine Philyaw Miller.
She is survived by: her siblings, Frances Philyaw, Helon Snead and Anthony Philyaw. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home (831 Wake Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Selma Memorial Gardens (1350 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carline's memory to Transitions LifeCare Hospice or to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
