She was predeceased by: her parents, William Preston Cargill Jr. and Jonnie Jeanette Walker; and her significant other William Carlyle Hawks. She is survived by: her siblings, William P. Cargill III (Judy) and Susan Cargill Wolf (Lodi); her sons, Charles Douglas Casteen (Reiko) and William Glenn Hawks (Elizabeth); her grandson Colin Casteen; her siblings' children, Heather Goins Walser (Jason), Sterling Cargill (Tracie), Brandon Goins (Amber), Thomas Garrison (Maria) and Tyler Paterson (Robert); and her friend Debbie Jones.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Raleigh Memorial Park (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA of Wake County.
