She was predeceased by: her parents, Coy Thomas and Violet Nordan Bowling; and her siblings, Diane Church and Tim Bowling. She is survived by: her husband Wayne Byrd; her children, Lisa Byrd Penny (Jonathan) and Jeremy Wayne Byrd (Patti Bryant); her grandchildren, Dawson Penny, Kacie Penny, Preston Byrd, Tori Massengil and Hunter Bryant; and her sister Martha Wood (Frank). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
