He is survived by: his wife Mildred McLaurin Stone; his children, Greg Stone (Linda Downey Stone) of Raleigh, Jennifer Owen (Simon) of Raleigh and Wendy Jackson (Jason) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Blake Stone, Colby Stone and Lauren Jackson; and his sister Linda Haynes (William) of Fuquay-Varina.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Shepherd's Church (6051 Tryon Rd, Cary, NC 27518). A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Montlawn Memorial Park (2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603).
