He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Brown and Mary Brown; his brothers, William and Paul Brown; and his son Daniel Brown Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Brown; his sister Lucy Moore; and his daughters, Helen Bates, Frances Mitchell and Dorothy Lee (Christopher Lee). He is also survived by grandchildren; and eight adored great-grandchildren.
