David Edward Cromartie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Edward Cromartie of Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on August 24, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cromartie and Mabel Cromartie; his sister Anne Burton; and his wife Eleanor Cromartie (Crotts). He is survived by: his children, Julie Haas (Brandon) and Chris Cromartie (Dawn); his grandchildren, Sydney Haas, Will Haas, Hannah Cromartie and Edward Cromartie; his siblings, George D. Cromartie of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Urbanna Gupton of Cary, NC; his sister-in-law Delores Crotts Hining; and his nieces and nephews, Michelle Curry, Laura Wise, Kathy Chewning, Laura Cromartie, Caroline Braskamp, Jonathan Gupton, Jonathan Crotts and Elizabeth Crotts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wake County SPCA in his name.
