In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Deacon William L. leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Deacon William L. may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy M. Ricks; his daughters, Dierdra L. Ricks and Dana L. Ricks; his grandson Sgt. Donavan M. Hicks (US Army); and his siblings, Gwendolyn Ricks, Herbert Ricks (Beverly), Kenneth Ricks and Karen Moore. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Baptist Grove Baptist Church (7109 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Baptist Grove Church (7109 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613). A burial will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at the Baptist Grove Church Cemetery (7109 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613).
