He was predeceased by: his wife Rayna Willis Lester; and his parents, Melvin O. Lester and Lottie Mae Lester. He is survived by: his children, Cecily McDowell of Creedmoor and Neal Lester (Robyn) of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Ainsley McDowell, Aiken McDowell, Amelia Lester and Taylor Lester; and his sister Shelia Goss of Hillsborough. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
